PadMan, Twinkle Khanna’s debut venture under the Mrs Funnybones production banner has finally gotten a release date. The film, starring Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor, and Radhika Apte in pivotal roles, would release next April. It revolves around the true story of Arunachalam Muruganantham, a social entrepreneur and Padma Shree awardee, who revolutionised the production of low-cost sanitary napkins in India.

Arunachalam Muruganantham’s is an inspiring story. He learnt to manufacture low-cost sanitary pads, and then went on to teach village women how to do the same, thus creating menstrual hygiene awareness as well as employment opportunities. Watch his TED Talk over here:
