Varun Dhawan-Banita Sandhu’s October was off to a slow start at the box office on Friday. The Shoojit Sircar film is a hatke love story which has garnered glowing reviews, with the critics lauding its poetry. But the audience thumbed down its pace.
October collected Rs 5.04 crore on day 1 but picked up pace on Saturday and Sunday.
October revolves around Dan (Varun Dhawan), a hotel intern and how he deals with the death of a colleague Shiuli (Banita Sandhu). The film is produced by Ronnie Lahiri, directed by Shoojit Sircar and written by Juhi Chaturvedi. Varun Dhawan’s performance is being commended for being stripped off the ‘star’ charisma.
