What’s with Bollywood and the new trend of “recreating” iconic songs? Jackky Bhagnani and Kritika Kamra’s upcoming film Mitron has released a rendition of the iconic Chalte Chalte from the Meena Kumari-starrer Pakeezah.
Recreated by Tanishk Bagchi, who also penned additional lyrics, this number has been sung by Atif Aslam. Listen to the song here:
While the number is pleasing to the ears, it really beats us on why it had to poach on the iconic original. Penned by Kaifi Azmi and composed by Ghulam Mohammed, it was sung by Lata Mangeshkar and remains one of Bollywood’s great creations on the haunting beauty of love.
