World's Third Oscar Academy to Open in Mumbai

Hollywood's Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) which presents the famed Oscar Awards will open an office in Mumbai, which will be only its third across the world.

This was announced during the visit of AMPAS President John Bailey and his wife Carol Littleton in Agra on Monday. Bailey and his wife had earlier visited Mumbai and are due to visit Delhi on Tuesday.

Bailey met Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma here and had an hour-long discussion with him.

After the meeting Bailey said Indian films should be dubbed in English for exhibition in the west and Hollywood films must be dubbed in Hindi. Sharma said they also discussed how the film industry could be promoted in UP and ways to expand "knowledge exchange" with Hollywood.

'Sairat' Actor Rinku Rajguru Passes 12th Boards With Flying Colours

Sairat fame actor Prerana, aka Rinku Rajguru, has cleared her class 12 exams conducted by the Maharashtra board by scoring 82 per cent in the Arts stream. She scored 533 marks out of total 650, her father Mahadev Rajguru told PTI from Solapur.

Rinku had appeared for the exam, held in February-March this year, at a centre in her native Solapur district. Rinku had scored 66 per cent marks in class 10. The national award winning actress's second Marathi movie Kagar was released in February.

Her father said Rinku was currently shooting in Belgaum in neighbouring Karnataka. When asked about her further education, Mahadev said his daughter would complete her graduation while working in movies.

Amitabh Bachchan Pens Note in Remembrance of Veeru Devgan

Amitabh Bachchan wrote a heartfelt note on his blog dedicated to action director Veeru Devgan who passed away on 27 May at the age of 85.

“Veeru Devgan... action director and co ordinator extraordinaire... who from those humble beginnings as a stand in stuntman, went on to become one of the most prominent action directors of the film industry who brought in innovative action sequences and executed them to perfection... who created job opportunities for innumerable stuntmen to work with him in his action team - many of whom in the years to come became independent action directors and producers of film; Veeru ji himself maturing on to becoming a producer director.. and most importantly raised, groomed and gave to the industry, another fine talent - Ajay Devgn, his son!” he wrote.

Aparshakti Khurana Thanks Tahira Kashyap for Directing His Music Video

Bollywood actor-turned-singer Aparshakti Khurana, who is making his debut as a singer-composer with ‘Kudiye Ni', has thanked his sister-in-law Tahira Kashyap for directing the music video. This is for the first time Tahira and Aparshakti collaborated together for the music video, which also features Sargun Mehta.

“Of course this would not have been possible without Bhushan Sir's support and a few more lovely people that made this happen, and I want to take this opportunity to thank them for their efforts. I want to thank my wonderful sister-in-law Tahira Kashyap for directing this video,” the Stree actor said. He also thanked John Edward Eduri and Aditya Dev for "giving me a few days from their lives and arranging/programming music for me". The song is produced by T-Series and will release on 31 May.

After regularly sharing photos of his training sessions with legendary cricketers Kapil Dev and Mohinder Singh, the Gully Boyactor just took to Instagram to share a photo of the entire cricket team of ‘83.

In one of the most sophisticated and elegant photos of all time, the entire cricket team of ‘83 is dressed in black suits with matching blue ties. Ranveer has approriately captioned the photo “Kapil’s Devils”, followed by a cricket bat emoji. The entire team is currently heading to London, England for the first schedule of the film.
