Kartik Aaryan-Ananya-Bhumi Are The New ‘Pati, Patni Aur Woh’ Trio
Bareilly Ki Barfi producer Juno Chopra is set to remake grandfather BR Chopra’s 1978 film Pati, Patni Aur Woh. Kartik Aaryan has been cast in the role originally portrayed by Sanjeev Kumar. He will be joined by Bhumi Pednekar who is likely to play his wife and Chunky Pandey’s daughter Ananya Panday, who will purportedly play his secretary.
Kartik took to social media to confirm the news. “Patni Ya Woh? #PatiPatniAurWoh Super excited to work with @bhumipednekar #AnanyaPanday!” he tweeted.
The film’s producers had initially considered Taapsee Pannu for the role which later went to Bhumi, causing controversy when Taapsee alleged that she had been ousted without ever being properly informed.
Pati, Patni Aur Woh is a humorous take on extra marital affairs and is about a man who lies to his secretary that his wife is terminally ill to gain her sympathy and get closer to her. His plans are foiled when his wife finds out about his deceit.
The premise of the remake will allegedly be similar to the original though it will be given a modern avatar. The film is expected to go on floors by February.
Kartik Aaryan will be seen next in Dinesh Vijan’s Luka Chuppi and Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal 2. Ananya Pandey will make her debut in Punit Malhotra directorial Student of the Year 2, which is being produced by Karan Johar. Bhumi Pednekar has been roped in as part of the ensemble cast of Karan Johar’s Takht.
