What is the truth behind Kangana Ranaut and Hrithik Roshan’s relationship? Both the actors have come on national television to give their sides of the story, yet no resolution is in sight. While Kangana claims that they were in a relationship when they were shooting Krrish 3, Hrithik has said they never even had as much as a proper conversation.
Hrithik’s comments have been taken from his interview on Republic TV, and his Facebook post from earlier in the week. Kangana’s have been taken from her interviews, primarily with Aap ki Adaalat and Rajeev Masand, apart from her media statements. Her friends and sister Rangoli also spoke to the media, and issued statements in the last two years.
A Turbulent Relationship
Kangana had stated that they had been in a long-term relationship, and when things went sour between the two, she was even dropped out from a film by Hrithik due to the bad blood between them. The film in question was Aashiqui 3.
However, Hrithik stated that the two did not even have as much as a conversation with one another as he found her shy, and were only speaking on professional terms. However, he did state that she would send him photos if she was at a beach, or something of the sort, and he would respond with a compliment, which would seem odd if he found her shy and would only speak to her in a professional capacity.
There was even a photograph of the two, which was circulated as proof of their romantic involvement, which Hrithik said was photoshopped, and even his ex-wife Sussanne said was taken out of context and had no romantic angle to it.
An Engagement?
A close friend of Kangana’s spoke to Mumbai Mirror and revealed that the two actors had secretly been engaged in Paris in January 2014. Hrithik, however, said that his passport ascertains that he never went to Paris in 2014.
Who Sent the Emails?
The thousands of emails exchanged between them is where it gets murky, as Kangana claimed that he had sent the emails to himself from her account, and then had also countered her own argument by saying that she had sent him emails two years ago.

A ‘Silly-Ex’
Kangana publicly referred to Hrithik as her “silly-ex”, who was not in her life anymore, a chapter she closed. However, Hrithik stated that while he received numerous emails from Kangana, he did not react to them till she called him a “silly-ex” in public, after which he felt that dirty laundry was being aired in public.
After denying there was a relationship between them, Hrithik said that Kangana made him look like the “small-minded boyfriend”, which could be interpreted as an admission of a relationship between the two.
After being called her “silly-ex”, Hrithik sent a legal notice to Kangana, asking for an apology, to which she also sent a legal notice stating she was no “smitten, dim-witted teen” and that “whatever happened between us was between two consenting adults.”
Imposter Syndrome?
After the numerous emails were exchanged, Hrithik stated that Kangana’s sister Rangoli suggested there could be an imposter sending the mails to Kangana, and said that it should be investigated.
However, Kangana claimed that the cyber cell did investigate, and found that the alleged imposter email account had been shut years before this incident.
For now, there is only confusion about what really transpired between the two stars.
