Padmaavat director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next, the Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt starrer Inshallah, has locked its release date for Eid 2020. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh broke the news on Twitter on Thursday 6 June, writing, “IT'S OFFICIAL... Salman Khan and Sanjay Leela Bhansali... #Inshallah release date finalized: #Eid 2020... SLB teams up with Salman after a long gap... #Inshallah stars Salman and Alia Bhatt. #Eid2020”
Inshallah marks the reunion of Salman and Sanjay after 20 years of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, though the star had a small cameo in Saawariya. This is also the first time Alia Bhatt will be working with Sanjay and opposite Salman.
Their unusual casting and age difference has raised the curiosity of fans ever since the film was announced in March. Salman is 27 years Alia’s senior. Alia had defended the casting in April and asked audiences to trust Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s vision for the project.
“Bhansali is a visionary. People are too quick to judge. There is a plan in place and a reason behind the [unusual] casting. I am thrilled to be working with Salman. Even I never thought this combination [working with Khan and Bhansali] is possible.”Alia Bhatt
Alia was last seen in the Karan Johar production Kalank. She has the Ranbir Kapoor starrer fantasy Brahmastra coming up apart from dad Mahesh Bhatt’s directorial Sadak 2 and SS Rajamouli’s RRR.
Salman recently broke records with his Eid release Bharat and will next be seen in the latest entry of his popular series Dabangg 3.
