The much anticipated big release of the year, Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Zero is scheduled to release on 21 December. However fake reviews of the film started doing the rounds on the internet on Wednesday, before the film even screened for the press. Twitter handles created to closely resemble popular film critics were tweeting out their reactions to the film and many people online seem to be taking them seriously without spotting the fact that these are not authentic, verified Twitter handles.

For example, here’s a fake photoshopped tweet by “Anupama Chopra” with a negative reaction to the film that’s being taken seriously and retweeted:

Here’s another tweet from a fake handle that tries to impersonate Rajeev Masand:
There’s another handle that tries to trick you into believing that it’s film trade analyst Komal Nahta’s tweet:
A twitter handle claiming to be “Taran Adarsh” has called Zero “disappointing”:
Another Twitter handle that closely resembles Anupama Chopra has tweeted out a positive review of the film too:
What’s more, there are mischievous tweets which are compiling non-existent ratings given to Zero by various media houses in an attempt to pull down the film calling it a “disaster”:
So beware and don’t go by these reactions to Aanand L Rai’s Zero.
