1. Vidya Balan to Make Her Short Film Debut with ‘Natkhat’

Mission Mangal star Vidya Balan is all set to star in her first short film called Natkhat. The versatile actor has joined hands with producer Ronnie Screwvala for a socially relevant short film.

Hoping to travel to international film festivals, Natkhat addresses several issues such as patriarchy, gender inequality, rape culture, domestic abuse and more. The film aims to cross barriers of age, gender, urban-rural divide and nationality.

This film marks multiple firsts for Vidya: her first short film as an actor and also her first outing as producer.

2. Karan Johar to Remake Vijay Deverakonda’s ‘Dear Comrade’

Vijay Deverakonda is gearing up for his next film titled Dear Comrade. He plays a student leader with Communist leanings. The film has managed to impress Karan Johar. He took to Twitter to announce that Dharma will remake the film. “ Stunning and powerful love story! With top notch performances and exceptional music by Justin Prabhakaran. On point debut direction by Bharat Kamma. Vijay Deverakonda is BRILLIANT as is Rashmika Mandanna. ANNOUNCING that Dharma Movies to REMAKE this beautiful film.”

3. Judges George, Matt & Gary Bid Goodbye to ‘MasterChef Australia’

After 11 long and food-filled years, the face(s) of television show MasterChef Australia will be no more. Judges Matt Preston, Gary Mehigan and George Calombaris, who have played an integral role in the cooking game show, will not be returning for another season. The news comes ahead of the season finale and the announcement was made by the official MasterChef Australia Twitter handle on Tuesday.

“After 11 sensational seasons, we bid a fond farewell to our judges - Matt Preston, Gary Mehigan and George Calombaris. Thank you for being a part of this remarkable #MasterChefAU legacy and helping make the culinary dreams of everyday home cooks come true!”

4. #MeToo Accused Anu Malik to Return to TV With Superstar Singer

After being accused of sexual harassment during the #MeToo movement in October 2018, singer-composer Anu Malik is set to return to reality TV, however as a celebrity guest this time. He will be seen appearing on the show Superstar Singer along with lyricist Sameer, says a report by Times of India. According to the report, “He will make an appearance along with lyricist Sameer in an episode dedicated to the songs composed and written by them.” The singer stepped down from Indian Idol in October last year following allegations of sexual harassment.

5. Is Emma Roberts Romancing Jr NTR in Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’?

Julia Roberts’ niece, Hollywood actor Emma Roberts is likely to replace British actor Daisy Edgar Jones in SS Rajamouli’s upcoming historical drama RRR. The Baahubali director reportedly met with Roberts in the US and is in talks with the actor for a role as Jr NTR’s love interest.

Set in the 1920s, RRR is a fictional account about two bravehearts, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem, who fought against the British. The film stars Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn and Samuthikarani. The makers announced Daisy Edgar Jones’ departure from the project in April, with the actor citing “family circumstances” as a reason for her exit.
