1. No Third Person in Split with Sahil: Dia Mirza Clears the Air

Dia Mirza took to Twitter on Friday 2 August to dispel rumours that a “third person” was the reason for her split with ex-husband Sahil Sangha. While Dia did not name names, she was clearly referring to a section of the media reporting that Bollywood screenwriter Kanika Dhillon was involved in the couple’s separation. Kanika also reacted to the reports, stating that she has never met Dia or Sahil.

In a series of tweets Dia wrote, “1. This is to clarify and put to rest all kind of speculation that is being bandied about by a certain section of the media regarding my separation with Sahil. It is most unfortunate to see the level of irresponsibility exercised.”

2. MLA Sirsa Asks Police to Register FIR Against KJo’s ‘Drug Party’

After accusing Bollywood celebs Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal of “flaunting their drugged state” in a video from a party at filmmaker Karan Johar’s house, Punjab MLA and National Spokesperson of the Akali Dal, Manjinder S Sirsa has demanded that the Mumbai police file an FIR against them.

In a letter addressed to the Police Commissioner of Mumbai, Sirsa has claimed that “a powder-like substance was visible in the video” and that “it was a drug party which indicated every likelihood that drugs have been bought, used and consumed in the said party”. He also mentioned that he had enclosed a CD containing the video for his reference.

3. In Pics: Vicky Kaushal Tries His Hand at Making Rotis for the Army

Uri: The Surgical Strike star Vicky Kaushal on Thursday 1 August shared pictures of himself making traditional Indian rotis for the very first time as he spends some time with the Indian Army.

Vicky made a post on Instagram with the caption, “The first ever roti I made... glad it was for the army.” In the photos, Vicky is seen rolling out rotis from dough and helping out the army cooks.

4. Vijay Deverakonda Rejects KJo’s ‘Dear Comrade’ Remake Offer

Recently, filmmaker Karan Johar announced that he had bought the rights to remake Dear Comrade. Dear Comrade stars Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna. Now, it has been reported that Vijay Deverakonda rejected Karan Johar’s offer to star in the Hindi remake of it.

According to the report, the Dear Comrade actor does not want to play the same role twice. Moreover, Mumbai Mirror reported that Karan Johar bought the film rights for 6 crore and then offered 40 crore to Vijay Deverakonda as a part of the offer. Despite the amount, Vijay declined the offer.

5. Twitter Asks Shekhar Kapur to Credit Erich Segal for ‘Masoom’

On Thursday, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur took to Twitter to reminisce his 1983 blockbuster hit film Masoom. The film stars Naseeruddin Shah and Shabana Azmi.

Shekhar tweeted a poster of the film with the words, “So many people that ‘Knew’ wanted me to change the script of this film. People that were famous, experienced and ‘knowledgeable’. Told me it had no drama, no villain. I was naive unknown unskilled untrained. But rebellious. Thank God for that !”

However, controversy was quick to follow.
