Actor Alia Bhatt received the trophy for Best Actor Female from Shabana Azmi at the Critics Choice Film Awards held in Mumbai on Sunday night. While Alia won the honour for her performance in Raazi, Vineet Kumar Singh was judged the Best Actor for his role in Mukkabaaz by the jury.
The Critics Choice Film Awards has been conceived by The Film Critics Guild, India’s first registered association of film critics which sets it apart from the usual popular film awards that populate Bollywood every year. Other winners at the CCFA included:
- Andhadun - Best Film
- Sriram Raghavan - Best Director for Andhadhun
- Manoj Pahwa - Best Supporting Actor Male for Mulk
- Surekha Sikri - Best Supporting Actor Female for Badhai Ho
- Amit Trivedi - Best Song for Halla from Manmarziyaan
- Pooja Ladha Surti - Best Editor for Andhadhun
- Sriram Raghavan, Hemanth Rao, Yogesh Chandekar, Arijit Biswas, Pooja Ladha Surti - Best Writing for Andhadhun
- Pankaj Kumar - Best Cinematography for Tumbbad
