Audiences Love ‘Photograph’ for Its Realistic Portrayal

Bollywood

Friday 15 March saw the release of director Ritesh Batra’s Photograph. Starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Sanya Malhotra, the film is set against the backdrop of a very tourist-y Mumbai. Taking us through the life of a street photographer Rafi, played by Nawazuddin, who comes across Molini (Sanya Malhotra). The two hit it off immediately and go on their own little adventure.

The first audience reactions to the film were mixed bag leaning towards the good side. While some were impressed by the on-screen chemistry of Nawazuddin and Sanya, others just didn’t feel it. However, what struck a chord with the audience is the realistic portrayal of life and characters. Moreover, the film stood out for how different it is from the usual Bollywood dramas that are loaded with songs and random dance performances.
