Anurag Kashyap had directed Gangs of Wasseypur.

One of our favourite films, Gangs of Wasseypur, completed seven years on 22 June. From Manoj Bajpayee, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Piyush Mishra to Richa Chadha, we saw some stellar performances from all the actors. The gang war drama was based in Wasseypur in Dhanbad district of Jharkhand.

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, however, took to Twitter to say that his life was “ruined” on that day. “7 years back is exactly when my life got ruined. Since then all everyone wants me to do is the same thing over and over again. Whereas I have only been unsuccessfully been trying to get away from that expectation . Anyways hope that “साढ़े साती” is over by the end of 2019”, he wrote.

Recently, Anurag Kashyap announced that he was starting a new company and working on a new film. Actor Saiyami Kher has been roped in for his next directorial.

Saiyami will be seen essaying the role of the female lead in the film alongside Malayalam actor Roshan Mathew.

“I am currently shooting for the film. It has still not sunk in that I am in an Anurag Kashyap film,” Saiyami had said in a statement.

“It is an understatement to say that I am extremely excited to be a part of this project. I can't really talk too much about the film right now," she added.

The film will be shot in Mumbai within three months.
