Hrithik Roshan-starrer Super 30, which released in theatres today, is expected to have decent opening day at the box office. Hrithik returns to the screen after a gap of two and a half years, and there are several expectations from his latest release.
“Decent reviews could convert to footfalls. Hrithik is coming back on screen after two and a half years,” says movie business analyst Atul Mohan. “The film is expected to make around Rs 15-18 crore at the box office on day one,” he says.
The film had decent occupancy of 20-25% in the morning, but its not really a great number for a Hrithik film.
The big question is whether the film will go on to make Rs 100 crore. At this point, it is difficult to say. Hrithik’s last film Kaabil (2018), had fallen short of the mark. The film earned around Rs 86.5 crore in lifetime collections. And his 2016 release, Mohenjo Daro had tanked at the box office, making only around Rs 53 crore (approximately).
Super 30 is based on the life of Maths genius and IIT coach Anand Kumar’s life, with Hrithik playing the lead role.
Directed by Vikas Bahl, the film has received average reviews so far.
