The makers of the upcoming historical drama Gold have released a new behind-the scenes video featuring Akshay Kumar’s transformation into the role of Tapan Das. Tapan is the manager of the Indian hockey team, whose dream is to bring home a gold medal against British. The film deals with the period right after India achieved independence when such a victory was unheard of.
The new video details all the work that goes into the look and mannerisms of Akshay’s Bengali character.

“The person that inspired his character is very controversial. Scheming, unpopular, argumentative, but at the same time, knows the game really well” adds director Reema Kagti.
There is also a peek into the fun side of Akshay on set, where he likes to prank his co-stars and director. Actors Kunal Kapoor and Vineet Singh, who play teammates, share their own stories about Akshay.
