Singham star Ajay Devgn and Simmba himself Ranveer Singh will appear as cameos in next year’s Akshay Kumar-starrer Sooryavanshi, which will expand director Rohit Shetty's "cop universe" in Bollywood.
"And the universe expands... Our game begins..." Ajay posted on Twitter along with a photo in which he is seen with Akshay and Ranveer along with co-producer Karan Johar and director Rohit Shetty.
Each of the actors is seen holding clapboards from their respective films: Ranveer holds a Simmba clapboard, Ajay has two for Singham and Singham Returns, and Akshay has one for Sooryavanshi which began shooting on Monday.
Akshay also shared the picture, writing “The cop universe just got bigger as #Sooryavanshi takes charge!”
Karan shared the snap on Twitter as well.
Ajay and Ranveer will do cameos in the film, confirmed Shibasish Sarkar of Reliance Entertainment, which is presenting the entertainer. Earlier Ajay had made an appearance as Singham in Simmba and Akshay’s Sooryavanshi character was introduced in that film as well. Akshay Kumar will play the role of an ATS officer in Sooryavanshi.
"The audience will see Akshay as Sooryavanshi in a never-seen-before avatar," Sarkar told IANS.
The movie also stars Katrina Kaif as the female protagonist, working with Akshay after 9 years. Badhaai Ho star Neena Gupta will be playing Akshay's mother. Sooryavanshi is set to release on Eid 2020.
