Veteran Actor Shyama Passes Away at the Age of 82
Veteran Bollywood actor Shyama passed away on the morning of 14 November, at the age of 82. Shyama won a Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Sharada. She has been a part of the industry for more than four decades and has been a part of almost 175 movies including Aar Paar, Barsaat Ki Raat.
In an interview with Mid-Day, Nasir Khan, who is the son of Johnny Walker said,
“It’s really disheartening to know about the demise of Shyama aunty, one of are the most beautiful actresses of her time. She had done several films with my father and in a lot of them she was opposite him also. In fact, in the film that was made on his name ‘Johnny Walker’, she was the heroine with him. Her daughter Shirin and I have known each other since we were kids. My heartfelt condolences to her and the family and may Allah give her the strength through this times.”Nasir Khan
Shyama married cinematographer Fali Mistry in 1953. The couple had three children - sons, Farooq and Rohin, and a daughter, Shirrin. Shyama’s cremation will be held on Tuesday at Marine Lines.
