‘Baahubali’ to Score 160 Crore Over the Weekend!

Filmmaker SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus Baahubali got a historic welcome at the box-office. According to latest reports the weekend gross collections of the film in all language versions (Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi) could cross Rs 160 crores!

As per the collections reported, the Hindi dubbed version of the film grossed Rs 22.35 cr (Fri 5.15 cr, Sat 7.09 cr, Sun 10.11 cr) over the weekend. Which is a record for any south Indian dubbed film.

Baahubali created a record on day one itself by grossing Rs 50 cr in India in all languages. An additional Rs 16 cr is estimated to have been collected by the film overseas.

According a report in the Hindustan Times, with the distributor nett share of Rs 42.3 crore on the first day in India, Baahubali surpassed Happy New Year (Rs 42 crore), Dhoom: 3 (Rs 32 crore), Singam Returns (Rs 31.8 crore), Chennai Express (Rs 31 crore), Ek Tha Tiger (Rs 30.3 crore), Kick (Rs 26 crore), PK (Rs 25 crore) and Agneepath (Rs 22 crore).

Baahubali is doing remarkably well overseas as well. The film’s Telugu version has reportedly earned an unbelievable Rs 21 cr gross in the USA!

The budget of the Baahubali is around Rs 250 cr and the film is divided into two parts, of which, the sequel will release next year .
