As Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan complete 43 years of wedded bliss on June 3rd this year, the actor shares memories of their big day, back in 1973, via social media and his personal blog.
I stayed at a rented place in the JVPD scheme on the 7th road .. the house was called ‘Mangal’ and was rented from one that worked in Larson & Toubro .. it began to drizzle as I was preparing to leave for the location of the wedding in Malabar Hill at a dear friend of Jaya’s father .. our neighbours came running out and said ‘hurry up and depart for the wedding, this rain is a good omen’ .. I left in my pride of the moment, a Pontiac coupé, driven by our long serving and dedicated driver Nagesh, who married Jaya’s maid soon after we got married .. Nagesh’s son Rakesh now works with us at Jalsa .. Nagesh passed away some years back …Amitabh Bachchan (via his personal blog)

Congratulatory messages have been flowing in from all corners and Big B thanked his fans profusely for all their love and good wishes. Big B also blogged about how much he misses his wife as another year goes by, and they celebrate their togetherness without each other.

In fact, Abhishek Bachchan also joined in the celebrations to share some special moments his parents have enjoyed together. The Housefull 3 actor posted two photographs, one of Amitabh and Jaya in their younger days, and another of Bollywood’s first couple together on stage.
Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan have starred together in super successful films like Chupke Chupke, Abhimaan, Silsila, Sholay and Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham.
