Film critic and journalist, Anupama Chopra raised an important question in her chat with 6 comedians she invited on her panel - Aditi Mittal, Biswa Kalyan Rath, Kanan Gill, Vipul Goyal, Tanmay Bhat, and Zakir Khan.

The question - Is there sexism in the comedy industry as well?

But before the only female panelist (Aditi) could respond - Tanmay, Vipul and Biswa gave their opinion on it.

Aditi had to interrupt and talk about how she made it this far in the industry. She began with, “Can I talk now? Is it ok to speak?”

Anupama also spoke about how Amazon Prime has signed 14 male comedians to release specials on their platform earlier this year. The panel (i.e. the male comedians) tried to answer as best as they could.

When it was her turn to talk, Aditi spoke about all the problems she faced being a part of the comedy industry.

Many people also took to Twitter to call out the comedy panel’s own sexism and the gender disparity on it.

Here’s what female comedians, Kaneez Surka and Radhika Vaz had to say.
