Women Do What They Feel Like Doing: Shahid Defends Mira

Shahid Kapoor has harsh words for anyone who has an opinion about his young wife, Mira Rajput.

In a recent interview with Mid-Day, Shahid Kapoor took to defending his wife, Mira Rajput after their stint on Koffee With Karan. The couple got flak for getting married at a young age and endorsing the ‘arranged marriage’ set-up.

Just watched a film star on a talk show say he fell in love with his wife after she got pregnant. Good progressive start to 2017.

But, Shahid has the perfect response for all the negative comments that are coming their way for the traditional route they undertook.

I don’t give importance to people who try to get importance by criticising those who are important. Just because she [Mira] got married early, doesn’t mean she doesn’t have an identity. Today, women do what they feel like doing. And, as men, we should respect that. Whether you are a working woman, housewife, young mother or a woman who chooses to have a child at a later stage in life, it’s your decision. Mira and I are really happy. I wish people could be happy for those who are.
