Mira Rajput is all set to make her television debut with hubby Shahid Kapoor on Koffee With Karan this week and we’ve got a sneak peek into their love story, which bears an uncanny resemblance to the ‘arranged marriage’ scenario of Sooraj Barjatya’s Vivah.
Remember how the sanskari Prem (Shahid Kapoor) meets the demure Poonam (Amrita Rao) in Vivah? Well, Shahid and Mira also met under the watchful eyes of their parents, and respectfully asked them for a few private moments to get to know each other better.
Turns out that after their initial meeting in the presence of their elders, Shahid and Mira were encouraged to spend some quality time together at a friend’s farmhouse. Despite their varied backgrounds and upbringings, the two hit it off immediately and talked for seven long uninterrupted hours, the very first time they spoke.
So instead of meeting on the terrace like Prem and Poonam in Vivah, Shahid and Mira shared their stories at a plush farmhouse. We can only guess what they talked about, but here’s the boy-meets-girl scene from Vivah, to spark your imagination.
But there’s nothing filmi about their real life bond. They tease each other candidly and are in the mood to reveal the whole story around their wedding. While Mira talks about all of Shahid’s ex-girlfriends being invited to their wedding, Shahid playfully says that he’s still learning about all her previous boyfriends, who are no less in number than the ladies on his list of exes. But he loves the fact that she’s a normal girl, because she keeps his celebrity status in check at home.
