Salman Khan is all set to launch his chain of six private single screen theatres. According to a report by Mumbai Mirror, Salman has already finalised two sea-facing properties in Juhu and Bandra, and will be zeroing in on the third property before Diwali to launch Salman Talkies, as the chain would be called, in time for the release of Shivaay and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

This is in tandem with Salman’s efforts to keep prices of movie tickets affordable.

He will be lending his name to a theatre chain to promote tax-free viewing. As of now, six single screens across Maharashtra have been roped in and more locations are being explored. Tickets for films at his theatres will be available at heavily subsidised rates and free for children. Salman will be launching each screen himself.

Salman is hoping to expand the chain to Uttar Pradesh by early 2017. The actor, who was in Delhi last week to introduce a jewellery line, had talked about how movie tickets in tier-one cities have gone up to Rs 400 to Rs 500.

A spokesperson from Salman’s charity said that if the star’s film has to hit a double hundred, he wants to do it with Rs 100 tickets.

If we can’t touch that figure with this plan, we will try again with another film, but Salman strongly believes that ticket prices should be brought down.

While a host of Indian film celebrities including Salman Khan, Karan Johar, Om Puri, and Ranbir Kapoor have been getting flak for their ‘artistes are not terrorists’ line of thinking, which is being perceived as a pro-Pakistan stance, former Pakistani (now Indian) singer Adnan Sami is getting an earful from across the border for his pro-India statement.

If your host has extended you a warm welcome, and suddenly a fire breaks out in (his) house, do you just run away? I feel they (Pakistani artistes) should have condemned the attack.
Adnan Sami, Singer (as reported by The Indian Express)

After his pro-India tweet, the singer has now said that Pakistani artistes should speak up against the Uri attack, and condemn the same strongly.

According to an Indian Express report, Sami equated the Indian army’s surgical strike across the LoC, as a neighbour coming in to clean out one’s garbage. He’s of the opinion that Pakistan should be grateful for India’s successful mission, rather than denying or condemning it.

He has been trolled since his pro-India tweet and continues to be called a traitor by Pakistani citizens for his newly acquired ‘Indian label’.

Here’s what I hate about Irrfan Khan... I always think I’m the coolest guy in the room, and everybody’s hanging on to every word I say and everybody’s a little intimidated to be in my presence. And then Irrfan Khan walks into the room. And he’s the coolest guy in the room.
