Here is a gem unearthed for all King Khan fans - Shah Rukh Khan in a short film titled Mahaan Karz made in 1991. SRK played the role of a treasurer’s son trying to impress his king for a position in the castle in the film.

And on hindsight, the film - though all of 17 minutes - showcases enough of SRK’s screen presence to predict the rise of the Badshah of Bollywood. Mahaan Karz was made by Shah Rukh’s theatre friend, Dinesh Lakhanpal. King Khan got a sum of Rs 3,000 for this role!

Shah Rukh is one of those actors who made a successful transition from the small screen with shows like Circus and Fauji to the big screen. His first film ever, In Which Annie Gives It Those Ones, and also starring Arundhati Roy, had the actor in a small role.
