You’ve heard about dreams coming true and films being made on stories inspired from real life. Here’s a mix of both.

Suresh Mukund’s story inspired the film, ABCD2 and now the film has given him wings to fly. Mukund’s Mumbai based Nalasopara dance group Kings United recently won big at the World Hip Hop Championship.

Suresh Mukund had been to the championship before and also reached the finals as part of the Fictitious Dance Group. But after the group split, he had no hope at another go.

Filmmaker Remo D’souza announced ABCD 2, based on the group’s rise to popularity in Mumbai and then making it big at the World Hip Hop championship in Las Vegas. Varun Dhawan’s role in the film was modelled on Suresh Mukund. After ABCD2, Mukund decided to give the championship a shot again and formed Kings United.

During the shoot of ABCD 2, Varun Dhawan promised Mukund that he would financially help him if he plans to go for the championship and stuck to his word. Finally, not only did Kings United enter the World Hip Hop Championship, it also managed to impress the jury and win a bronze honour! Talk about living a filmi dream!
