Swapan Dasgupta Must Be Disqualified for Joining BJP: Mahua Moitra

As a nominated RS MP, he can be disqualified for joining BJP, under the Constitution’s 10th Schedule, Moitra said.

Trinamool Congress leader and Lok Sabha MP Mahua Moitra on Monday, 15 March, took to Twitter to say that nominated Rajya Sabha member Swapan Dasgupta must be disqualified for joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), under the 10th Schedule of the Constitution of India.

Swapan Dasgupta is BJP candidate for WB polls.
10th Schedule of Constitution says nominated RS member to be disqualified if he joins any political party AFTER expiry of 6 months from oath.
He was sworn in April 2016, remains unallied.
