Two days before Uttar Pradesh (UP) goes to polls, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday, 8 February, promised free electricity to farmers for irrigation and employment to at least one member of each family.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah released the party's manifesto 'Sankalpa Patra' at an event in Lucknow, saying, "There were 212 resolutions in the 2017 manifesto, out of which after completing 92 percent of the resolutions today, we have again brought the resolution letter of 2022 in front of you. It is the work culture of BJP that we do what we say."
The manifesto makes a number of promises for schemes and concessions aimed at farmers, women, and the youth.
Further, the manifesto states that a minimum imprisonment of 10 years and a fine of Rs 1 lakh would be imposed on those found guilty of committing 'Love Jihad.'
The Mukhyamantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana will be started at a cost of Rs 5,000 crore. The scheme will provide for grants to be given for the construction of borewells, tube wells, ponds, and tanks.
In the next 5 years, all farmers will be given free electricity for irrigation.
Sugarcane farmers will be paid within 14 days. In case of delay, farmers will be paid back with interest by charging interest from the mills.
Aims to strengthen wheat and paddy purchase at MSP in the next five years.
A Rs 5,000-crore renewal plan for sugar mills in the state announced.
Solar pumps will be given to the farmers under the Pradhan Mantri Kusum Yojana.
Surplus electricity generated from solar energy will be sold to increase the income of the farmers.
Under the Nishadraj Boat Subsidy Scheme, fishermen will be provided boats of up to Rs 1 lakh at 40% subsidy.
A subsidy of up to 25% will be given to set up fish seed production units.
Anti-Corruption Units will be established in all 18 divisions of the state.
Will ensure provision of imprisonment of at least 10 years and a fine of Rs 1 lakh for committing 'love jihad'.
Ant- Terrorist Commando Centre to be set up in Deoband to curb terrorist activities. Similar centers will be constructed in Meerut, Rampur, Azamgarh, Kanpur, and Bahraich.

Free two-wheelers for female college students under Rani Laxmibai Yojana.
CCTV cameras and 3,000 Pink Police booths will be installed near all public places and educational institutions.
Under the Avanti Bai Lodhi Self Help Group Mission, 5 lakh new women self-help groups will be formed with a cost of Rs 5,000 crore.
About 1 crore women working in self-help groups promised loans up to Rs 1 lakh at the lowest rate through self-reliant SHG credit cards.
Allowances for mothers and sister under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana will be increased from Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000.
Pension for widows and destitute women will be increased to Rs 1500 per month.
Pension of senior citizens, the disabled will be increased to Rs 1,500 per month.
The chief minister will provide financial assistance of up to Rs 1 lakh under the community marriage grant scheme.
The party has also vowed to double the number of women in all government jobs, including UP Public Service Commission (UPPSC).
Two crore tablets and smartphones will be distributed to the youth under the Swami Vivekananda Yuva Sashaktikaran Yojana.

BJP's Goa Manifesto
BJP also made its manifesto for Goa public on Tuesday. It was released by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Goa CM Pramod Sawant.
The saffron party in its manifesto assured to transform Goa into a "destination for co-working spaces and remote working in the post pandemic era," reported The Indian Express.
Besides, to empower homeowners in the state, a total of three gas cylinders would be provided to them in a year for free, said CM Sawant.
