Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan is at the receiving end of trolls again after he shared a tweet where he wrongly attributed a quote by Rabindranath Tagore to Kahlil Gibran.

On Wednesday 19 June, Imran Khan tweeted an image that carried the quote, “I slept and I dreamed that life is all joy. I woke and I saw that life is all service. I served and I saw that service is joy.”

His tweet said, “Those who discover and get to understand the wisdom of Gibran's words, cited below, get to live a life of contentment.”

‘Mr Khan, It Doesn’t Hurt to Google’

Twitterati was quick to point out the gaffe. Journalist Murtaza Solangi said “it doesn’t hurt to Google a quote if you are not into reading.”

“By copying a Tagore’s quote and attributing it to Kahlil Gibran, you are not only getting mocked, but you are making a laughing stock of the country in the process,” he added.

Poet Kumar Vishwas also took a jibe at Imran Khan, questioning how the PM got into Oxford.

Journalist Taha Siiddiqui said, “We all know WhatsApp had a big role in getting you ‘selected’ but stop putting the forwards you receive there online, especially when they are false.”

Pakistani journalist Baqir Sajjad said it is his “humble suggestion that Mr Khan start relying more on Google”.

Imran Khan had, on another ocassion, mixed up France and Japan while citing an example of how the country set up joint industries in the border to boost economic ties with Germany.

Imran Khan hasn’t deleted the post, but maybe it is time for the Pak PM to be careful about what he puts up on Twitter, lest he gets brutally trolled.
