Early on counting day an ANI video asking Trinamool Congress' Asansol candidate Moon Moon Sen to respond to trends saying she was trailing in the polls went viral.

In the video, a reporter asks for her reaction to the count at that time where she was trailing by over 65,000 votes to her BJP opponent Babul Supriyo. She responded, between smiles, saying, “bahot dukh dukh ho raha hai (I am feeling very sad)... kyunki counting acchi nahi jaa rahi...(as the counting is not going well.)“

She repeated the phrase “dukh” much to Twitter’s vicarious enjoyment.

Tweeple reacted to the video with the usual snark, with many references to her earlier ‘bed tea’ comment, which has gone down as one of the more absurd statements made this election season. Others referenced her callous remark, calling the violence outside the polling booth in Asansol "a little bit of violence”.

NDTV reported that she repeated this remark on 19 May, calling the clashes and vandalism of the iconic Vidyasagar statue a “tiny bit of violence.”

‘Serve Her Some Bed Tea’!

Priti Gandhi, BJP’s national convener for their Mahila Morcha, targeted the politician by referencing her old, parodied remark of ‘bed tea.’

Activist Anuraag Saxena, founder of India Pride Project, hit out at Sen, calling her an ‘entitled elitist who sheds crocodile tears.’ Interestingly, PM Modi is among Saxena’s followers on Twitter.

Sourav Sanyal, executive editor of India Ahead, shared another video in which Sen tells the reporter not to talk to him or “I will start crying.”

Many others referenced the memorable bed tea remark, and on her losing the count.

Her loss and reactions were seen as a moment to bring back her previous remarks.
