BJP Announces Names of 4 More LS Candidates

Bharatiya Janata Party released list of candidates for four parliamentary constituencies. The list comprises four names including one each from Assam and Uttar Pradesh and two from Karnataka.

Candidate for one assembly constituency in Odisha was also declared.

'Party Should Tell Me Why This Was Done,' Says Giriraj on BJP Fielding Him From Bihar's Begusarai Seat

Speaking to the media, BJP leader Giriraj Singh indicated that the party did not consult with him before nominating him as a candidate for Bihar's Begusarai Lok sabha seat.

"My self respect is hurt that no other MP's seat was changed in Bihar. It was decided without talking to me. State BJP leadership should tell me why was it done. I've nothing against Begusarai but I can't compromise with my self respect," he said.

Amid Defections, INLD Looks for 'Crisis' Management

Stung by desertions following a vertical split and a heavy bypoll defeat, nothing seems to be going right for the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) in Haryana.

At a time the Lok Sabha election is around the corner, the INLD on Monday admitted that the party was going through a crisis and would hold a meeting on Wednesday to get out of the rough patch.

INLD state president Ashok Arora said the meeting of the party's political affairs committee had been convened in Rohtak to decide the future course of action.

“Yes, we are going through a crisis,” Arora told PTI.
