With the Lok Sabha elections in full swing, voters across India are lining up to get their voter IDs sorted. From checking their names on the voter list to identifying if their voter ID is still valid.
Among these normal concerns for the voters, voter credentials in electoral rolls and the voter slip that needs to be carried to the booth during voting are also included.
This year, the government has taken the procedure of generating voter slip online which will be accepted by the polling officers. After examining your online generated voter slip and checking your voter ID, the polling officers in polling booths will ink your finger.
How to Generate Voter Slip Online
- Open the National Voter Service Portal’s electoral search page (https://electoralsearch.in/), it will open a form for you, giving options in Hindi and English
- Fill in your name, age, state, district, constituency, gender, guardian name, etc as mentioned in the form (seen below).
- Enter captcha code for authentication and click search, it will open the records with EC under the form
- Verify its you and click view details, you will be redirected to a your voter information, including details of the polling booth:
- Click 'Print Voter Information' button on the bottom right corner of the first half of the screen (blue button), a PDF will be downloaded.
- Print the PDF and you're good to go!
The National Voter Service Portal (NVSP) does not only this, but allows you to do everything to register yourself as a voter, seek information on elections, etc. Taking the electoral process has for sure, eased the voting procedure all throughout this Lok Sabha elections.
