I’m From the Caste of Poor: Modi on Mayawati’s ‘Farzi OBC’ Jibe

Addressing a poll rally in Uttar Pradesh's Sonebhadra on Saturday, 11 May, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched another scathing attack at the Opposition alliance in Uttar Pradesh for raising questions on his caste. He said that he belongs to the caste of all poor countrymen."They (SP-BSP) have launched a fresh attack on my caste. I want to tell them that Modi belongs to just one caste – whatever caste the poor belongs to."Modi's jibe was directed towards the Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati, who said he is a “farzi backward” and a “fake OBC” leader.National security also figured prominently in his poll rally. He also claimed that the country's intelligence agencies suffered when a third front government, which included the Samajwadi Party (SP), was in power at the Centre.“Our intelligence agencies were weakened by an earlier ‘mahamilawati’ government, but the (Atal Bihari) Vajpayee government set that right.”Prime Minister Narendra ModiTalking about India’s security and intelligence agencies, he said "Many people connected with our security and intelligence agencies have written a lot about this.
