The data for 2017 is not available at present. As per 2015-2016 admissions, basis your rank, you would be eligible in the following streams at IET DAVV:
- CE – Computer Engineering
- CSE – Computer Science Engineering
- EI – Electronics Engineering
- ET – Electronics & Telecommunication
- IT – Information Technology

Dear Darshan,
It is great that your daughter is so bright in her studies. In India (sadly enough), marks are an important determinant for course or college.
But before we delve into this further, we want to ask you if you have asked your daughter what she wants to do?
In India, a lot of stress is given to engineering, medical and management studies. Whether or not a student is interested or has the aptitude for it is irrelevant. The result is that most students either drop out midway or are driven to depression.
Our advice will be to assess your daughter’s skill set and then shortlist course options. If she is interested in medicine and engineering, then by all means, go for it. Bachelor of Architecture is another option.
But if you are looking for options beyond B.Tech or Medical after pursuing science, there are a whole lot of options to choose from. B.Sc (H) is very popular amongst students. One can explore various fields like Electronics, Computer Science, Forestry, etc. Besides this she can look into Business & Management, Commerce-Accounts-Banking, Fashion Designing, Hospitality, Pilot Training, etc.

That will depend on the course you want to pursue. While the US and the UK are popular for their B.Tech programmes, Australia is more popular for hotel management. Similarly, for management studies, Singapore, the UK and the USA are most sought after. For law too, Singapore is preferred. Students usually head to the UK, Russia, Ukraine to study medicine.
For every country you apply to, you will need to appear for an English comprehensive test like IELTS or TOEFL, in addition to any entrance exam that you may have to give for admission. Plus availability of scholarships, student fees and living expenses etc. are also some of the important factors that you should consider before applying. Also, don’t forget to scrutinise the job market of the country, given the current socio-political situation.

Everything makes sense. If you have a flair for English and are able to articulate your thoughts seamlessly, then go for it.
English is a flexible course and allows you to either continue with it or meander to other courses. If you really enjoy studying the science behind the English language, then you can pursue your MA and PhD and write theses, papers or work with academic research experts. You can also become a lecturer and grow in the academic field.
But that’s not all. You can move to mass communication, PR and media if it interests you or pursue an MBA even later on in life. You can even shift to digital branding and marketing for big labels. Script writing with media houses, editorial jobs in publishing houses and print media, etc. are a few areas where you can do well.
True, the remuneration will not be as much as an engineer might get, but the life experience will be great and you will be exposed to various facets of creativity.
