Despite the festive cheer on New Year’s Eve, everyone is waiting eagerly to hear Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address to the nation on 31 December. It is being speculated that Modi will present a new course of action following the 31 December deadline for depositing demonetised currency.

- A roadmap for ‘Dharmyudh’-2, the fight against corruption.
- Increase in the credit limit of shopkeepers along with the condition of smooth transactions with banks.
- Providing new jobs in accordance with the digital push.
- Special plan to promote services related to the Aadhar card.
- Special facilities for girls’ bank accounts.
- A year’s supply of free gas cylinders for Below Poverty Line households.
- An income transfer scheme for about 100 million families with financially weak backgrounds in both rural and urban areas.
