The government on Friday launched a free-to-DTH TV channel, DigiShala TV, to educate Indians on making payments and transactions digitally post demonetisation.
Minister of Information Technology and Electronics Ravi Shankar Prasad also unveiled a website, Cashless India, for instructing people on digital transactions.
DigiShala TV has been launched to impart information and education in rural and semi-urban ares on digital payments, its tools, benefits and the process.
“The channel will be available through GSAT15 (DD Direct DTH), 93.5 degree East, Receive frequency: 11590 Mhz,” the government said in a tweet.
DigiShla TV will be available for free to make it affordable for the poor, the Centre said.
The channel will air programmes showing step-by-step demos on making digital payments using UPI, USSD, Aadhaar, e-wallets, cards and various talk shows and panel discussions with experts, as well as information about products and services under the Digital India programme.Ravi Shankar Prasad
The Ministry also started a campaign called ’Digi Dhan Abhiyan' to enable small traders and merchants to adopt digital payments for their everyday financial transactions.
Through the campaign, the government also aims to instruct people on safeguarding their accounts from cyber crime.
