Over 80 percent of the Indian population is in agreement that demonetisation was a good choice, irrespective of the inconvenience they has had to go through. The numbers were put together by the C-Voter poll, an international polling agency, that carried surveys across the country across different age and income groups.

There was a consensus across the various groups participating in the survey that though the implementation might have witnessed its hiccups, the decision to adopt the policy was the right one. The survey was carried out in about half the country’s parliamentary constituencies on Monday.

Two questions were put before the participants: what is their opinion of demonetisation, and are they willing to overlook the inconvenience in the name of India’s fight against black money?

Prime Minister Modi announced demonetisation on 8 November as part of his fight against black money.
