How Has India Fared in Other Editions of the ICC Champions Trophy?

India qualified for the finals of the Champions Trophy in 2000, but they were defeated at the hands of New Zealand. However, the team went on to emerge co-champions in the next edition of the tournament in 2002.

This was followed by a lull for three subsequent years (2004, 2006, 2009), during which the team was knocked off in the group stage.

India reached the semi-finals in the inaugural edition of the Champions Trophy in 1998. The fate of the team in 2017 remains yet to be decided. But going into the tournament, the Indian team has a reported winning rate of 71 percent, the highest for any side.
