All that hollering about ‘nepotism’ after the controversial chat Karan Johar and Kangana Ranaut had over coffee, seem to have fallen on deaf ears at Yash Raj Films.
The studio just announced the launch of two newcomers - Aadar Jain and Anya Singh, and predictably plastered the two all over social media.
BUT they also thought it would be a good idea to highlight the fact that Aadar comes packed with the greatness of the ‘Kapoor’ genes.
Not once, but over and over again.
This blatant marketing of Aadar using his genetic connection to the Kapoor family, didn’t go down too well on social media. Stand up comedian Aditi Mittal was among the first to call out Yash Raj Films for harping on Aadar’s lineage.
And it wasn’t just the nepotism that was called out.
What’s with the sexism of dishing out pictures of Anya in skimpy outfits while Aadar is all covered up playing the ‘I’m too cool’ card?
The least Yash Raj Films could have done is link Aadar to Aadhar and rode one of the recent trending terms on Twitter. Oh wait, Aditi did that too.
