Kajol is reportedly going to lose her place in the Prasar Bharati board due to her repeated absence from the meetings.
According to a report in Deccan Chronicle, the members of the board raised the issue. Soon after, the Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry has been looking into the matter.
Kajol was appointed to be a “part-time member” of the board in February 2016 and according to Deccan Chornicle, has missed the last four meetings.
“A member is deemed to have vacated office if absent for three consecutive meetings of the board without the consent of the chairman,” sources said.
They are, however, going to ask Kajol for a reason for her absence before taking the decision.
“After receiving a reply, the ministry is expected to take a decision on the issue,” sources added.
Kajol was in the news recently, when she took to Twitter to clarify that the dish she was photographed eating, was not beef.
