Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has apologised for his crass tweets on Women’s Day after receiving a backlash both online and from certain political parties. On Thursday night, RGV tweeted his apology by posting this message:

But his apology came with a disclaimer:

His tweet obviously refers to NCP leader Jitendra Awhad, who had threatened RGV via a tweet to apologise.

The usually nonchalant Ram Gopal Varma may have been pressurised to issue an apology after BJP MLA Ram Kadam took up the controversy and stated that the filmmaker would not be allowed to shoot in the city unless he said sorry. RGV who is already on a career low, probably didn’t want to mess up things with the ruling party in Maharashtra.

But the BJP leaders in Delhi, didn’t seem to have a problem with RGV’s tweets. Check out Hema Malini’s reaction here:

Don’t be surprised if Ramu entirely stops his inane tweets until his next big project Sarkar 3 has a smooth release.
