Aisha Chaudhary’s story is a special one. Born with Severe Combined Immune Deficiency (SCID), undergoing a bone-marrow transplant as a six month old baby and later being diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis, Aisha’s life had been something of a ‘rollercoaster’, as she would often call it herself. Life had never been fair to this teenage girl, who like many others her age, has always wished for a happy ending.

But, even the greatest pain couldn’t dim her bright smile or the purposeful gleam in her eyes. Aisha wasn’t one to admit defeat, and the more challenges life threw at her, the more she kicked back with a purpose.

Aisha’s story is being adapted by filmmaker Shonali Bose in The Sky Is Pink which stars Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim.

Aisha travelled across the country, offering words of hope, happiness and honesty to all those dealing with their own demons. And like she said time and again, she always ‘chose’ to be happy. This is why, on the special occassion of Children’s Day, we want to remember Aisha, her beautiful words and her message to never stop being happy.
