Hours after her victory, Chhillar took to Twitter to express her gratitude and dedicate her title to India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi too congratulated the 20-year-old on her win.

In an interview during her grooming for Miss World, Chhillar said: "The only thing I believe is certain in life is uncertainty and this is what is amazing about the pageant."

Before heading for the Miss World pageant, Manushi had said in an interview that she always dreamt of competing for the Miss World title.

As a kid, I always wanted to participate in the competition, but I never knew I would make it this far. Winning the Miss World title is now not just my dream, but also that of my family and friends. I know it’s going to be a journey that I will never forget. Whatever the result, I am going to learn, enjoy and give it my best. The rest, I leave to destiny.
