Calling customer care and other similar services tends to take up a lot of time as well as be exhausting, therefore, Reliance Jio, on the sidelines of India Mobile Congress 2019, showcased a first-of-a-kind video based service support that seeks to change the way issues are resolved for generic users.

This will come in handy for telcos, banking institutions, and any other support system used to reach out to customers. The technology the service is based on is an AI-centric video bot which can be customised and designed as per a company’s needs.

Jio is calling it the world’s first app-less video call bot, and it will work via normal phone dial on mobile devices. But the telco has designed the platform in such a way that users can also make use of the service on a feature phone as well.

The bot has been designed with the help of AI.

The bot is intuitive enough to understand the network strength of the caller and switch between video, audio and text, depending on the Internet speed available to them.

The feature will work on smartphones as well as feature phones.
The company is hosting the feature through its encrypted setup and has quashed concerns about callers’ safety.

Jio will, in all likeliness, partner with banks such as HDFC, which is being demoed on the sidelines of India Mobile Congress 2019. Moreover, the telco could partner with other companies to ease their load of complaints received every minute.

The solution is still a work in progress and Jio doesn’t want to put a timeline to when the service will be available to the end user.
