Sourav Ganguly, the former Indian captain on Wednesday hit out at Ravi Shastri saying he’s living in a “fool’s world” if he thinks he didn’t get the job because of Ganguly.

Former Indian player Sanjay Manjrekar and skipper Bishan Singh Bedi shared contrasting views on the raging verbal battle between Ganguly and Shastri in the wake of the national coach apppointment.

Bedi was quick to call out the circus being made out of the comments of the former Indian players.

After he was overlooked for the coach’s job, Shastri slammed Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) member Sourav Ganguly for not being present in the meeting when he was interviewed through Skype.

Veteran Gautam Gambhir spoke to ABP News and was also critical of Shastri’s comments saying, “Ravi Shastri’s comments only shows his desperation. Kumble is the best choice, he is hard working person.”

People on Twitter reacted, siding with Ganguly on the issue, calling Shastri’s conduct ‘ungracious’.

The apparent jealousy in Shastri’s words did not go unnoticed.
