The former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly hit back at Ravi Shastri on Wednesday. The former Indian team director had said on Tuesday that Ganguly was disrespectful to the job of selecting the Indian team’s head coach, since he was absent while Ravi Shastri gave his interview for the coaching job.
Ganguly who had decided to not comment on the issue earlier, opened up about the controversy to News 18.
I am extremely surprised and saddened by Ravi Shastri’s comments. If he thinks I am responsible for him not getting the job, he’s living in a fool’s world. It was already decided that I will attend CAB working panel meeting on day of coach election.Sourav Ganguly
The CAB president also said, Shastri should have been present for the coach interview in person.
