India opener Mayank Agarwal converted his maiden Test century into a double-century in his first innings at home during the Test series opener against South Africa on Thursday, 3 October.

The 28-year-old batsman got to his double-century off 359 balls, which included 22 boundaries and five sixes at Visakhapatnam, his fifth Test match.

Meanwhile, Twitterati lauded Mayank’s knock with cricketing legends and experts heaping praise on the Karnataka boy.

Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh also appreciated Mayank’s effort. He tweeted saying, “Shabash @mayankcricket bhut badiya.. lage raho 200 ”

Cricket expert and presenter Harsha Bhogle tweeted saying, “It has been so satisfying to see @mayankcricket take such giant strides with an immaculate double century. Composed, organised and hungry. ”

Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra wrote, “Double Century. Incredible effort. Mayank Agarwal..”

The Indian cricket board, BCCI also tweeted to congratulate Mayank.

Senior journalist Ayaz Memon congratulated Mayank for his splendid innings. “ Bravo @mayankcricket! #200 ” he wrote in a tweet.

Cricket fans were also not very far behind. They made sure they appreciate the young lad for his amazing performance in the ongoing Test.
