Kings XI Punjab defeated Rajasthan Royals by 12 runs in the second leg clash of the IPL in Mohali on Tuesday, 16 April.

Speaking to the media at the post-match press conference, KXIP batsman David Miller hailed captain Ravichandran Ashwin's performance and said his bowling kept the team in the game.

"We tried to use the boundaries to our advantage. Ashwin's bowling was extremely well. It kept us in the game. Actually, it was a really good team performance."

The 29-year old South African batsman earlier on Tuesday replaced Australia all-rounder Moises Henriques’ after a last-minute ankle injury.

When asked about a player getting injured just before the World Cup, Miller replied:

“I think it’s always going to be there. Nowadays, there is so much cricket throughout the year, so you have to put that aside, that’s how we train, stay nice and fit and make sure that you are in a good physical condition, it is what it is.”

"Unfortunately, it is part of the game if you are going to get injured, you don't want to see someone get injured. I don't know how Moises is at the moment. We will have to wait and see and hope he recovers quickly because there is still some important games coming up in IPL," Miller added.

Miller's performance was also praised by the KXIP captain who during post-match presentation said, "Miller wasn't playing but he came in and played a vital hand for us. he took a couple of catches as well."
