It was the Kings XI Punjab who won the match against Rajasthan Royals in the reverse fixture on April 16, Tuesday in Mohali. Rajasthan failed to chase down Punjab’s 182/6 and fell short by 12 runs to finish on 170/7.

The much-awaited clash between Jos Buttler and Ravichandran Ashwin was not to be seen this time around as the wicketkeeper batsman was dismissed by debutant Arshdeep Singh.

Buttler’s early wicket was a big blow for the Royals as they never really recovered from his loss and were always behind the asking rate in the chase.

Ashwin took two wickets for his team, sending back Rahul Tripathi and Royals debutant Ashton Turner to swing the game Punjab’s way.

Meanwhile, Twitter rued to the fact that they missed out on an another Buttler – Ashwin face off. The Punjab skipper ‘Mankaded’ Buttler when the teams met for the first time this season in Jaipur. Back then also, it was Buttler’s dismissal which turned the game around for Punjab just like in this game.

However there was a lot of appreciation from the cricketing fraternity on how Ashwin’s asture captaincy helped Punjab do the double over Rajasthan.

Meanwhile the tournament is going from bad to worse for the Royals as they are just not being able to carry on the winning momentum which they had gained after their win against Mumbai in their last outing.

Ajinkya Rahane’s team next play Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders. Punjab on the other hand, face Delhi , RCB and SRH in three away games.
