This is a tweet by Gujarat MLA and youth leader Jignesh Mevani, along with an image comparing a photograph of UP CM Yogi Adityanath, ‘spiritual guru’  Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and Swarajya magazine columnist Shefali Vaidya, with a still from a movie.

The photo tweeted by Mevani mocking Adityanath, Ravi Shankar and Vaidya by comparing them to movie characters is photoshopped. There are clear visual markers to suggest this is the case.

  3. Yogi Adityanath’s image too has been sought to be used twice in the photo. On the right hand side of the image, his hand can be seen, along with the right side of his body. (marked in green)

This photograph has been shared widely on social media over the last 24 hours. on Tuesday, it was posted by Twitter user @ThisrtyScholarr, who however clarified that the image is photoshopped and not original.

Mevani later acknowledged that he had tweeted a photoshopped picture and issued an apology.

A close inspection of all images and videos is advised before sharing them on social media.
