Is the claim true?: No, the claim is false.
The clip dates back to April and shows a volunteer march held in Madurai in conjunction with the Communist Party of India (Marxist) party congress.
What we found: We divided the video into multiple screenshots and ran a Google Reverse Image Search on some of them.
This led us to a YouTube post by CPIM Tamil Nadu that contained similar footage from 9 April.
The video’s description in Tamil reads, “Full-length footage of the Red Brigade parade.”
It included some hashtags such as: “#CPIM24thPartyCongress and #CPIM24thCongressMarxist.”
We also found the same video on CPI (M)'s Instagram page from 6 April with the caption, "The red volunteer march to venue for #cpim24thpartycongress begins!"
We, then, ran a relevant keyword search and found a report by The Hindu from 6 April which stated that on the concluding day of the 24th Party Congress of the CPI(M), the party's Red Volunteers marched from Elkot near Pandi Kovil in Madurai to Mastanpatti.
Similarly, The Wire also reported on this incident which took place in Madurai, Tamil Nadu in April.
As per reports from 21 May, 27 Maoists were killed, including Nambala Keshav Rao, alias Basavraju by security forces in Chhattisgarh.
The operation was part of the government's efforts to eliminate Naxalism by March 2026. The operation resulted in the arrest of 54 individuals and the surrender of 84 others in Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Maharashtra, reported The Hindu.
Conclusion: The video is old and unrelated to the recent killing of several maoists by security forces in Chhattisgarh.
